Disciplined and Persistent is how Mr. Dilip Surana likes to describe himself. He is a firm believer that their success is the outcome of continued focus and hard work. His father, late Shri G.C.Surana, founded and established Micro Labs in 1973. Micro Labs is a fully integrated pharmaceutical company that encompasses all aspects of the pharmaceutical value chain from Research and Development, Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients, Finished formulations, to Marketing and Distribution in India and overseas. 

ABOUT THE LEADING LIGHT

Born on 18th January 1966 in Bangalore, Dilip Surana completed his schooling at Bishop Cotton Boys High School in Bangalore and further graduated in 1987 with a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounts) degree from St. Joseph's College of Commerce-Bangalore University. He is the eldest brother and eventually went on to join the business started by his father Shri G.C. Surana in 1988. Formerly under the leadership of late Mr. G. C. Surana, the privately held company is now run by Mr. Dilip Surana & Mr. Anand Surana. He cherishes every moment, but to him, the time he spent learning ropes from his father is what he treasures the most. And as he further advises budding entrepreneurs he says, “Work Hard, Result will follow and do not Compromise on Quality” The company ranks among the top 20 in India as per AIOCD-AWACS October 2021, with a presence in more than 50 countries and 3300 product registrations at various stages.

Mr. Dilip is in the Global Pharmaceutical business, and loves everything about his job, from interacting with his employees, doctors, trade partners, industry colleagues & leaders, to learning from the market, visiting manufacturing, and R&D.

Covid Pandemic posed one of the most challenging times for all professionals globally. As soon as the lockdown began, he set up a core team of senior officials. Their core team managed to work remotely and work in shifts while maintaining all safety measures in compliance with WHO guidelines.

The GDA Foundation was established by Micro Labs in 1994, which oversees several educational institutions involving an undergraduate college, a management college, a school called Surana Vidyalaya, as well as helping some clinics and hospitals.

§  The Micro Labs Sikkim manufacturing unit was consequently awarded the prestigious Gold award in the years 2017, 2018, and 2019, and a Silver award in the year 2016 at the Indian Manufacturing Excellence Awards (IMEA) held by Frost and Sullivan in association with Economic Times. 

§  Sikkim Unit got the feather in the cap by achieving accolade from Indian Drug Manufacturers Association (IDMA), Quality Excellence Award with a clean hat-trick of Gold Award for the year 2017, 2018, and 2019, and Silver Award for the year 2016

§  In 2019 and 2021, Dolo-650 was awarded the Times award for most popular and trusted pharmaceutical brand
